Public Sector Catering starts search for plant-based food heroes

Written by: Edward Waddell
During Plant-Based Week (15-19 May 2023) Public Sector Catering will be celebrating plant-based food heroes across the industry who encourage and inspire others to consume more plant-based food, which is better for their health, the environment and the planet.

The overall theme for the third edition of Plant-Based Week is ‘Be a Plant-Based Food Hero’. Each day will have a different focus, looking at the benefits of a plant-based diet, at the people who provide amazing menus and at how using plant-based dishes can save caterers money.

Public Sector Catering are looking for catering managers, chefs, kitchen assistants, caterers or even whole teams to nominate themselves or others who they consider to be a plant-based food hero. To nominate someone today fill out a short nomination form here (no more than 200 words).

A plant-based food hero can come from any public sector catering sector including schools, care homes, hospitals, universities, the Armed Forces, prisons and catering colleges.

On Friday 19th May Public Sector Catering will conclude Plant-Based Week by celebrating and highlighting the work of plant-based food heroes.
