Paul Mattocks appointed chairman of League of Club Chefs
Mattocks will take on the position of chairman with immediate effect, having previously spent 18 months in the role of vice chairman for the collective.
He said: “It is an honour to be regarded so highly by my peer group and I am excited to take on the role as Chairman for the LOCC. It is my passion to help develop the skills of younger chefs and this will provide a great platform to do so.”
Mattocks’ role as chairman will see him responsible for guiding the direction of the organisation alongside the committee, with the aim of making training more accessible for younger chefs by organising funded training days and working closely with colleges such as Westminster.
Mark Field, VSC’s operations director, added: “We’re very proud of Paul for being appointed to this prestigious role. At the VSC we pride ourselves on delivering first class food and this is all down to the fantastic chefs and kitchen brigade we have at the venue so it is important that we support the next generation of young chefs as they enhance their skills and move forward in their careers.”
The LOCC is a charity-based organisation that works towards the education and development of young chefs in private members clubs, as well as the sharing of knowledge among professionals within the catering industry specifically related to clubs.
The organisation also arranges various trips for young chefs, who get the opportunity to visit suppliers, restaurants and industry experts. The league also holds various cookery competitions with its main aim being to promote the skills of young chefs within the London Club scene.
