Nestlé tackles hospitality recruitment crisis with pledge campaign
According to Nestlé research 40% of all businesses are facing a skilled worker shortage and over the course of the next five years experts are predicting a significant talent gap for positions suitable for hospitality graduates.
The research found that although some young people show interest in hospitality, many view it as a back-up career, with long hours and hard work. Respondents also reported receiving insufficient information and support on opportunities and progression at school.
The Choose Hospitality Pledge, which starts on Tuesday 7th February 2023, is a coming together of Nestlé Professional with Springboard CareerScope and Choose Hospitality. They will form a national team of valuable industry ambassadors, who will be visiting schools across the country to inspire upcoming generations to consider a career in the sector.
The likes of Whitbread, the Institute of Hospitality, Bridging the Skills Gap, PACE and HIT Training are just a few who have already pledged their commitment to the campaign.
