Michelin-starred chef headed to Antarctica for Great Ormond Street Hospital
Having undertaken the expedition last year, Kochhar vowed ‘never again’ but his “urge to support the hospital” has apparently given him the motivation to return.
He said: “My daughter didn’t have the best start to life but we were incredibly fortunate and grateful that Great Ormond Street Hospital was there for us.
“I want to do my bit to ensure that the hospital is there for every child that needs its services.
“I’m excited and nervous about my second trip to Antarctica but I’m looking forward to cooking for a special group of people, in order to raise as much money as possible.”
Kochhar will embark on his journey to Antarctica on 27 December, where he will cook for a group of people there.
Head of community events at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, Laura Savory, added: “We’re so grateful to Atul Kochhar for his generosity and support.
“The money raised will help to make a difference to seriously ill children from across the UK.”
