Written by: Admin
At the same time The Berkeley in Knightsbridge can confirm that Marcus Wareing will open his eponymous restaurant 'Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley' at the hotel on Monday 15th September 2008.
The new restaurant replaces Petrus, of which Wareing was chef/patron for nine years. Marcus Wareing explained what this means to him: "I am incredibly proud to have achieved this accolade, particularly from such a respected guide as Harden's. It is the culmination of many years hard work from myself and my team and also comes at the perfect time, as I will open my own restaurant, on the same site as Petrus, called 'Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley' on September 15th. "My name will be on the door for the first time, but I'll remain in familiar surroundings with the same loyal and dedicated team around me. That will bring a new sense of energy that will help us to produce ever better dining experiences for our guests and I am determined to make this London's finest restaurant and live up to the ranking I have achieved in the Harden's guide. My focus is now very much on the future and the opportunities that my new restaurant will present" Klaus Kabelitz, General Manager of The Berkeley, part of the Maybourne Hotel Group says: "Marcus has become an essential element of what makes The Berkeley a true gourmet destination. We are delighted, therefore, to continue to offer Marcus's cooking to our guests and look forward to exciting future ahead" Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley will be open Monday to Saturday, and will offer a Chef's Table in the kitchen for up to 8 guests. Reservation line is 0207 235 1200.
