Managers on a mission - to find star local and regional suppliers for new Marco Pierre White restaurant
The team behind the launch of the new restaurant, which is set to open in October at DoubleTree Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury, are scouring the region to find food suppliers that are good enough to meet “the exacting standards†needed for the new venture.
And as expected, the previously three-Michelin starred chef is said to be putting "extremely high" sakes on the search criteria warning potential candidates that only those that are certain their produce is up to "exacting standards" should apply. The "fiery" TV chef, who is often dubbed "the godfather of modern cooking", is famed for his no-nonsense approach and Michelin-starred food. He has also been reported to be the creative force behind cookery stars like Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal whom Pierre White he has in the past trained and employed. Group general manager at DoubleTree by Hilton, Mark Hands said: "Plans for the new restaurant are coming on well and we're on the look out for more suitable food suppliers. We've always had a policy of using as much fresh local produce as possible in the restaurant and this will not change. "The food that will be served will be of the highest standard so the ingredients will have to reflect this."
