Josh Overington hosts masterclasses at Le Cochon Aveugle

Written by: Katie Imms
Following the success of his culinary masterclasses this autumn, Josh Overington - chef patron of Le Cochon Aveugle (York) - has announced five extra dates for early next year.

Designed to equip ‘food lovers’ with the skills needed to replicate dishes at home, each class will focus on a different topic: wild game and butchery; creating the perfect Sunday lunch; how to perfect a three-course meal; fish cookery; and classic French cuisine.

Guests will also learn how to prove, shape, fold and bake Overington’s ‘signature’ bread.

He said: “As well as learning new skills and techniques, the classes are fun and informal. If you love food and like cooking, then this is a great way to spend a day – learning from each other, making friends and discovering that techniques you thought might be too tricky are actually perfectly achievable.”

Each event lasts 6.5 hours, and includes coffee and an introduction; morning session; lunch break (served with wine); afternoon session ending at 4pm.

Classes cost £125 per person, with dates as per below:

  • 27 January - wild game and butchery
  • 24 February - creating the perfect Sunday lunch
  • 24 March - how to perfect a three-course meal with matching wines.
  • 28 April - filleting, preparing and cooking fish and shellfish
  • 19 May - classic French cuisine
