Former NCOTY winner Simon Hulstone to co-lead event in Austria

Written by: Edward Waddell
Severin’s, The Alpine Retreat in Austria, has announced an exclusive 4-hands event with former Craft Guild of Chefs National Chef of the Year winner Simon Hulstone this Spring.

Hulstone is the proprietor of The Elephant in Torquay – the first in the region to be awarded a Michelin star and the only one to retain it (maintained since 2006).

Passionate about the local produce and area, he champions the ingredients grown and reared on the restaurant’s dedicated farm in South Devon. Hulstone is the only British chef to win Gold at the World Chef Championship in France.

Hulstone said: “I‘m really looking forward to cooking at Severins this spring, bringing with me my sustainable and modern cookery from my base here in south west England utilising our farm to plate ethos and working with chef Thomas to add synergy with the fantastic produce of Lech and surrounding areas. We will be cooking my  signature dishes with a subtle Austrian twist.”

Hotel chef Thomas Koch is delighted to welcome Simon Hulstone for a collaborative showcase of dinners for residents and non-residents this March.

Koch added: “Our menu is based on products and suppliers from the area around Lech and Vorarlberg: Alpine products from small manufacturers all brought to the plate in new ways. While our basis is classic French cooking, our goal is the happiness of our guests and we look forward to welcoming them to these special 4-hands events.”

Dates: Sunday 31st March, Monday 1st April
