Douwe Egberts Professional redesigns its packaging
Douwe Egberts' Intense Selection, Extra Dark Roast and Dark Roast Decaffeinated coffee bean range will incorporate a new design and feature an all-new Taste Navigation Tool.
The tool enables customers to easily choose the beans to suit their preferred taste based on five flavours including smooth & mild, smooth & powerful, harmonious, characterful & delicate and characterful & rich.
The UTZ certified quality mark is an assurance that you are helping farmers to learn better farming methods, improve working conditions and take better care of their children and the environment. For coffee farmers, UTZ certification results in a better livelihood.
The products currently available in the new packaging, include Douwe Egberts' Intense Selection Espresso consisting of 100% of the best Arabica coffee beans from South and Central America.
Martyn Bell, Douwe Egberts Professional, said: “With the growing popularity of the high street coffee shop, it is no surprise that the sale of Espresso beans across cash and carry carry wholesalers continues to go from strength to strength. The British public have fast become a nation of coffee aficionados, expecting a great cup of coffee no matter where they go.
“Now these consumers can enjoy their great-tasting, quality cup of Douwe Egberts coffee with the knowledge that the beans are sourced ethically. The UTZ program not only improves opportunities for the farmers, their families and the environment, but encourages sustainable farming. Through this program, we can help farmers grow better crops and increase income while safeguarding the environment and the planet's natural resources.”
Paul Freeman, Douwe Egberts Professional, added: “With the British high street coffee market almost entirely bean-based, it is important to ensure that the products themselves can be sustainably and ethically sourced. The UTZ program is a great initiative to help ensure better farming methods, working conditions, care for the environment and future generations.
"By improving the working conditions, we can in turn improve the quality of crops, increase income and ensure a better life for the farmers, their families and the environment. We are delighted to offer 100% UTZ certified products and support this very worthy initiative.”
