D&D London champions female farmers this International Women's Day

Written by: Katie Imms
Restaurant group D&D London is marking International Women's Day (8 March) a little differently this year, with the launch of its ‘The Secret Diary of a Farm Girl’ dinner series.

Recognising the role that women play in the farming industry, the new initiative will shine the light on the experiences of female farmers, kicking off with Caroline Wheatley-Hubbard (owner of Boyton Farm) 12 March at New Street Grill (London).

As Wheatley-Hubbard shares her insight, guests will be served a three-course meal of curried pigs head terrine with apple sauce to start; main of pork belly with black pudding hash and Josper grilled hispi cabbage; followed by chocolate truffles and salted caramel fudge.

All dishes will be paired with wines from female winemakers.

Tickets cost £25 per person (including the three courses and wine) and can be purchased via: https://www.newstreetgrill.co.uk/event/the-secret-diary-of-a-farm-girl-a-female-farmer-series/.

The second event will take place during British Beef Week (1-7 April) at Butlers Wharf Chop House with more detail to be announced soon.
