Craft Guild of Chefs’ wellness event features inspiring panel of female leaders

The latest Craft Guild of Chefs wellness event, ‘Innovative Ways to Build Confidence and Overcome Challenges in Hospitality’ was led by Wellness Ambassador Andy Aston and featured an inspiring panel of female industry leaders.

Hosted by Extract Coffee Roasters, at their state-of-the-art training and education space in Bermondsey London, the event brought together a diverse group of more than 50 hospitality professionals and chefs, to explore wellness within hospitality.

Boasting a stellar line-up of female speakers, the distinguished panel featured leaders from the food, hospitality, and coaching industries, including:

  • Mex Ibrahim, co-founder of Women In The Food Industry
  • Ruth Hansom, award-winning chef and one of CODE Hospitality's 100 most influential women in hospitality
  • Sarah Frankland, executive chef at Pennyhill Park
  • April Lily Partridge, The Roux Scholarship winner & former sous chef at The Ledbury
  • Yvette Jans van Rensburg, performance coach

Guests had the opportunity to listen to the panel's insightful discussion on wellness in the hospitality industry, the importance of fostering inclusive spaces and discuss personal wellbeing.

The panel shared inspiring personal stories of resilience, building confidence and achieving success in the hospitality industry. They divulged how they’ve tackled challenges head-on and offered up practical and actionable tips to help boost confidence for hospitability professionals.

Professional performance coach Yvette also shared practical insights on building unshakable confidence, tackling challenges with clarity, and creating a ripple effect of empowerment that extends beyond a person’s career into every area of their life.

Aston said: “This event was not only our biggest yet but also brought together an extraordinary set of women on the panel who impressively articulated wellness matters within the industry. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the panel for taking the time to join us, giving us an insight into their careers and high lighting the many positive changes happening across the hospitality Industry.

The event featured a range of coffee offerings, including the innovative Passion Fruit Low Caffeine Filter Coffee, and the Inner Strength Espresso, a limited-edition community coffee designed to bring people together.

In addition, the team shared the story behind the limited-edition Betty Espresso, launched on 3rd March in celebration of International Women’s Day. Betty Espresso is a tribute to women in the coffee industry, aiming to provide a platform for women to have a stronger voice, greater opportunities, and the recognition they deserve.
