CORE by Clare Smyth tops OpenTable’s top 100 UK restaurants

Online booking site OpenTable today (5 December) named Clare Smyth’s restaurant CORE by Clare Smyth the best in the UK, as part of its annual 2018 top 100 restaurants in the UK.

Based on over 850,000 verified reviews over the past 12 months, Smyth – who was recently named the world’s best female chef and awarded two Michelin stars - came in first place.

 

The top 10 is as below:

  1. CORE by Clare Smyth, London
  2. The Ledbury, London
  3. Trinity, London
  4. Scott’s Restaurant, London
  5. Launceston Place, London
  6. BEAST, London
  7. La Trompette, London
  8. Alyn Williams at The Westbury, London
  9. The Oxford Blue, Windsor
  10. Medlar, London

 

CORE by Clare Smyth, Trinity, Launceston Place, BEAST, La Trompette, Alyn Williams at The Westbury, The Oxford Blue and Medlar are all new entries to the top 10 this year.

 

The table also revealed that British diners are favouring national cuisine more than ever, with British food making up 22% of this year’s list, compared to European which dominated last year.

 

Adrian Valeriano, vice president of OpenTable Europe, commented: “As London continues to cement itself as the UK’s culinary capital, it’s also great to see outstanding restaurants from across the country (ncluding Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Hampshire) appearing on the list.”
