In a ceremony held in Novotel Mumbai International Airport Hotel chef Vivek, the executive pastry chef at Le Meridien in New Delhi, was honoured with the prestigious 2024 Pastry Chef of India award by Better Kitchen, India.

This award not only recognises chef Vivek's ‘exceptional’ talent but also marks a triumphant milestone in his career. Chef Vivek's journey into the world of pastries has been nothing short of a ‘gastronomic odyssey’.

Armed with a passion to transcend the ordinary, he has redefined the art of pastry-making by seamlessly fusing modern European and French classical techniques with the vibrant and diverse flavours of the Indian palate.

Guided by a commitment to break free from the confines of traditional pastry-making and evolving the style with new techniques, chef Vivek's desserts are a celebration of creativity and a testament to his culinary prowess.

His creations are not just desserts; they are symphonies of taste, texture and innovation. The delicate balance of flavours and textures in each creation reflects not only his technical mastery but also an intuitive understanding of what calls for a good dessert.

He commented: "It's a significant accomplishment, and I’m grateful for all my mentors from Michelin star chefs to my seniors from The Lancaster in London, chef Nigel Boschetti and my team.”

He also emphasised the importance of pushing culinary boundaries and exploring new frontiers in the world of pastry arts and his passion to tell a story through his desserts for every customer.

As chef Vivek continues to elevate the art of pastry-making, his award is not just a recognition of past achievements; it's a promise of more delectable surprises and culinary marvels to come.
