Chef owner of Frenchie Covent Garden awarded Michelin Star for Paris restaurant

Gregory Marchard – chef patron of Frenchie Covent Garden - has been awarded a Michelin star by the Michelin Guide France 2019 for his Parisian restaurant, Frenchie Rue du Nil.

Coinciding with Frenchie Rue du Nil’s 10th anniversary, Marchard and his wife, co-owner Marie Marchard, said they will host a number of events at both restaurants to celebrate.

 

He said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive a Michelin Star in this year’s guide.

 

“This has been the result of 10 years of hard work from a fantastic team, and I am incredibly proud of everyone who has contributed to the success of the restaurant.”

 

Marchard is known for his ‘simple yet sophisticated’ dishes, which take inspiration from his French heritage transformed with his international culinary experience.

 

He learnt to cook while growing up in an orphanage in Nantes (France) before going on to train in top kitchens in London, Hong Kong, Spain and New York.  

 

The couple also own Frenchie Bar à Vins, Frenchie Caviste and the casual take-away concept, FTG (Paris).
