Chef Neil Rankin launches BBQ knife set with Savernake Knives

Chef Neil Rankin, of London-based restaurant Temper, has launched a bespoke BBQ knife set in partnership with specialist, Savernake Knives.

Available to purchase now for £900, the ‘Ultimate Barbecue Set’ comes just in time for National BBQ Week (28 May – 3 June) and includes a boning, chicken, cleaver and butchers knife.

Combining Savernake’s manufacturing design and technology with Rankin’s “extensive knowledge” of high-end barbecue – operating his own specialist BBQ and open fire pit cooking restaurant, Temper – the duo worked “closely” together throughout the design and prototype stages to ensure each knife was created with a specific function.

Rankin said: “When Savernake Knives approached me about developing a set of knives specifically crafted for barbecue fanatics such as myself, I jumped at the chance.

“When it comes to the restaurant (Temper), I’m always looking for best-in-class producers and suppliers, and am incredibly passionate about working with locals.

“Being UK-based and true craftsmen, Laurie and Philip (directors of Savernake Knives) felt like the perfect fit for me. The knives we’ve designed and created together are all you need to master the art of preparing meat and veg for the barbecue.”
