Carpigiani to open brand-new development kitchen in Manchester

Written by: Edward Waddell
Following the continued success of Gelato University, Carpigiani UK has announced a brand-new development kitchen in Manchester will open this November.

The kitchen is fully equipped with Carpigiani’s state-of-the-art equipment to help chefs, business owners and entrepreneurs master the art, craft and science of artisan gelato. With sites already in Hereford, London and Glasgow this is the fourth development kitchen to be opened in the UK.

The new site will host the university’s four courses as well as its popular Soft Serve Consultancy, and one-to-one bespoke sessions to accommodate all skill levels and culinary ambitions.

Paul Ingram, managing director of Carpigiani UK, said: "The opening of this new site really is a credit to our team who are committed to providing expert knowledge and support to anyone wanting to know more about gelato production, profit margins, recipe development, and the most suitable equipment for their business needs. But ultimately this wouldn't be possible without such enthusiasm from our customers and continued business growth.”

To celebrate the opening of Carpigiani’s Manchester development kitchen, the company has added a new date to its Gelato Challenge, hosted at the new venue.

This is a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ chance for a gelato chef to represent the UK in Italy, at the Gelato Festival World Masters Championship – scooping the title of World’s Best Gelato Master. The opportunity includes an all-expenses-paid trip to Bologna in Italy.

The competition is free to enter, and applicants can apply via Carpigiani's website: www.carpigiani.co.uk/gelato-challenge-2024.
