Not-for-profit organisation The Burnt Chef Project has launched its social impact report titled ‘Serving Up The Tools’ to help end the stigma of mental health in hospitality as well as offering insight into the mental health crisis across the industry.

In 2022, The Burnt Chef Project ‘significantly’ expanded its services by launching restaurants in Toronto as well as throughout the UK – boasting a team of 136 ambassadors around the world.

The Burnt Chef Journal Podcast hit 76,000 downloads in 2022, reaching 100 countries in the process. Hosting weekly discussions with industry experts from both inside and outside hospitality, the success of the podcast means crucial topics are being heard by more people than ever, normalising the conversation and raising awareness of the work the project is doing.

Founder Kris Hall said: "It's been an incredible year for The Burt Chef Project with support provided to thousands of individuals. I'm really pleased to have influenced change-makers within the hospitality community who are supporting their peers and teams whilst adjusting internal structures and cultures to ensure workplace environments are healthier."

The Burnt Chef Project aims to provide support services to those in the hospitality industry so that they can have help with their mental health whilst also healing the industry from within via a wide range of educational tools and supportive structures.

Chef Tony Baughan added: "The Burnt Chef Project has impacted my life because there is a project out there happy to help and that we can talk to. The Burnt Chef Project is amazing, you're not alone and they will help. Please talk."
