Bocuse d’Or announces 11 European finalists
The European selection of the prestigious Bocuse d’Or has come to an end, with 11 countries qualifying for the grand final (Lyon, 2019) following two days of ‘fierce’ competition.
Having taken place in Turin (Italy) this week (11-12 June), 28-year-old Norwegian chef, Christian André Pettersen, took home the overall winning title - securing Norway’s place with his gold award. It is the country’s second time winning the continental selection.
The full results are as below:
- Gold – Norway: Christian André Pettersen, Restaurant Mondo assisted by Håvard André Josdal Ostebo
- Silver – Sweden: Sebastian Gibrand, Lux Restaurants assisted by Tommy Mylltmaki
- Bronze – Denmark: Kenneth Toft-Hansen, Svinkløv Badehotel assisted by Christian Wellendorf Kleinert
- Wild card - Italy - Italian chef Martino Ruggiere
- Best commis prize – Italy: Curtis Mulpas, Itlay
- Special plate prize – France: Chef Matthieu Otto
- Special platter prize – Finland: with Chef Ismo Siplainen
