Atherton opens limited-edition Swiss venture
Launching just for the winter, the partnership will see Atherton transform the hotel’s King’s Club nightclub into a ‘chic yet informal’ restaurant, bar and night spot offering diners ‘an entertaining, interactive dining experience’.
He said: “I love to ski with my family and have been going to St. Moritz for as long as I can remember. I enjoy the energy and excitement, and want to echo this in a dining experience that is somewhere where customers can socialise and integrate.
“The service, atmosphere and sharing plates encourage sociable dining - a place where people can visit for the food but also for a truly special place where they can be comfortable and cherish time with loved ones”.
While Atherton’s British heritage will shine through on the menu, he also promises locally-sourced, seasonal produce.
Head chef Marcus Rohlen (who has worked at Atherton’s Social Company since 2011) will serve oversee the menu, which will include dishes such as: pork pie trolley; roasted wild mushroom cep toast; truffle morels ‘fondue’; and roasted lobster with duck fat chips.
Richard Leuenberger, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel managing director, said: “Much like the surrounding hotel, the aim (of King’s Social House) was to create a spirited and interactive atmosphere that provides a sense of occasion.
“We are thrilled to be working with such a skilled chef and restaurateur, and look forward to an eventful winter season”.
