Chef Adam Handling has this week been appointed executive chef of the Belmond’s first London-based hotel, Belmond Cadogan Hotel, when it opens this winter.

Handling – who is up for the Craft Guild’s 2018 Innovation Award – brings vast experience as chef proprietor of The Frog and The Frog E1, and will continue to showcase his “passion for traditional British cuisine with a modern twist.”

With sustainability and zero waste at the heart of his offering, Handling’s new role will see him oversee all food and beverage operations at Belmond Cadogan Hotel, including the main restaurant, bar and terrace, and the tea lounge, where he will serve his ‘specially crafted’ tea service.

Handling said: “I’m so excited to be partnering with Belmond Cadogan Hotel to bring an outstanding selection of dining options for visitors and guests.

“Belmond has an incredible reputation worldwide, and the building itself has an amazing history - I’m really looking forward to bringing the hotel into a new, modern chapter and putting my stamp on the menus.

“Being part of this launch is one of the highlights of my career.”

Calling Handling an “exciting and innovative talent,” hotel general manager, Klaus Kabelitz, added: “At Belmond, we are delighted to support up-and-coming talent and Adam’s culinary skill, combined with his incredible passion for curating the ultimate fine-dining experience, makes him the perfect partner for our first London hotel restaurant.”

Hugh Seaborn, Cadogan chief executive, commented: “We are very excited about Adam joining the neighbourhood. He brings a fresh new dining experience to Sloane Street and I’m certain he will be very popular with both locals and guests alike.”
