Worshipful Company of Cooks hold Annual Prize Winners Luncheon

Livery company the Worshipful Company of Cooks held its Annual Prize Winners Luncheon to celebrate civilian and military cooks who triumphed in culinary competitions over the last year.

Anne Pierce MBE, CEO of Springboard and Sarah Jayne Stanes OBE, CEO of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) were both awarded the Special Award for those who made an exceptional contribution to the culinary profession.

Graham Craddock, past master of the Worshipful Company of Cooks, said: “On behalf of the Company - which is also fondly known as ‘the Cook’s Livery - I would like to congratulate all the winners. You are all beacons of your profession.”

The event celebrated chefs including AB Dominic Armfield, HMS Duncan Cook of the Year and Gary Mclean, winner of Masterchef: The Professionals 2016.

In attendance were the Lord Mayor of London, the Rt Hon Andrew Parmley, liverymen chef Brian turner, president of the RACA and John Williams MBE, executive chef of The Ritz.

The Worshipful Company of Cooks was established in 1482 and members include Prue Leith CBE and chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL.  The company sponsors NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeship scheme at Westminster Kingsway College and the Combined Services Culinary Challenge for military chefs.
