Umbrella Training introduces new commis chef apprenticeship
The programme, according to Umbrella Training, is not just any culinary course but a high-profile and industry-backed programme that is led by the best chef’s and hospitality brands, creating an environment that gives its learners unrivalled access to expertise, mentorship, and real-world innovation.
From strategic thinking and advanced kitchen skills to personal brand development, each element has been crafted to help chef’s take their skills up a level and join the next generation of industry leaders.
The programmes structure features six different masterclasses that help chefs to grow and shine in all-important sectors of kitchen service. They include:
- Advanced Plant-Based Cuisine masterclass with nutrition-expert Andy Aston.
- A section that covers restaurant-level plant-based cooking.
- Education about protein structuring and menu engineering.
- A game workshop with Lee Maycock, demonstrating field to plate game preparation skills, whilst also highlighting the importance of ethical sourcing.
- An ethical fish & shellfish masterclass with Cyrus Todiwala that will cover sustainable sourcing, advanced filleting, shellfish preparation and menu costing.
- A masterclasses on laminated dough products and advanced patisserie training.
