Speciality Breads adds new Malted Ciapanini roll to its range

Red Tractor-certified Speciality Breads has added a new Malted Ciapanini roll to its award winning range of ciabatta.

The Malted Ciapanini is made with Kentish Rapeseed Oil and is being targeted at the foodservice sector, with 100g rolls in boxes of 40p costing approximately 60p per unit.

Peter Millen, managing director of Speciality Breads, said: “Our Red Tractor credentials have helped set us apart within the market and generate a reputation for providing the finest British-made breads to the foodservice sector.

“With our home county of Kent producing some of the best cold pressed rapeseed oil available, we began looking at the option of a change last year as a way of improving flavour, supporting local producers and getting closer to our aim of offering products that are quite literally British born and bred.

“With various threats surrounding the olive oil industry exacerbating in recent months, whether that’s from counterfeit oil, product inconsistency or supply problems, we’re delighted to be making this positive change.”

The roll out of this new line will signify a big change for Speciality Breads as it replaces olive oil with Kentish Oils’ cold-pressed rapeseed oil across its whole ciabatta and focaccia ranges from June.

Speciality Breads, established in 1996, provides an artisan selection of over 100 breads to a UK-wide network of wholesalers, who in turn supply restaurants, pubs, cafés, caterers and hotels.
