Smiths of Smithfield secures Cannon Street site

Smiths of Smithfield has secured its first new site in three years, due to open in Cannon Street next month.

The Cannon Street restaurant and bar will open on 21st November and follows the brand’s original site in Farringdon.

Cat Stuijt, sales and marketing manager at ‘SMITHS’ of Smithfield, said: “We are incredibly excited about this new venture, in the heart of the city in an area which is crying out for sophisticated dining and drinking in a sea of grab-and-go outlets.

“The new restaurant has been specifically designed to adapt to both the needs of the local business community looking for a smart but informal setting and members of the public looking for a great food and drink experience.”

The majority of produce for Cannon Street, in conjunction with the existing Farringdon site, will be sourced locally and all the meat is ethically produced from UK farmers and then butchered in house.

The kitchen will be headed by Henry Omereye who has created a menu of ‘playful interpretations on classic dishes’, including grilled halibut with lobster mash and Henry’s cornfed chicken.

David Gleave has created a carefully chosen wine list and the site will also offer a range of craft beers from local and international brewers.
