Simon Rogan signs up for Skills for Chefs Conference 2024
David McKown, the conference director, said: “We are delighted to announce that the conference will feature an audience with Simon Rogan on Thursday, June 27th.
“This will be the 25th Skills for Chefs event and we are excited to have Simon with us in Sheffield for the very first time.
“He is an internationally-renowned, award-winning chef, who recognised as one of the pioneers of the farm-to-table movement.”
At L’Enclume he focuses on highly local and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant currently holds three Michelin stars, the top spot in the Good Food Guide and five AA Rosettes.
In 2017, Simon was recognised as the AA chef of the year, and is currently vice president of the Bocuse d'Or UK team.
His second venture, Rogan & Co, opened in Cartmel in 2008 and won its first Michelin star in 2018. It currently also holds three AA Rosettes.
In 2016, Simon launched Aulis Cartmel, a six-seater chef’s table experience and a London outpost of Aulis arrived in October 2017 as a stand-alone, 12-seater chef's table experience in central Soho.
Over the years he has also expanded his restaurant portfolio to Hong Kong, opening Aulis in January 2019 and Roganic in February 2019. Roganic Hong Kong was awarded its first Michelin star in December 2019.
In October 2019 he opened a restaurant within Linthwaite House, a contemporary country house hotel in the heart of the Lake District and earlier this year he expanded his portfolio to Valletta, Malta with the opening of ION Harbour by Simon Rogan.
Next month (December) he will be opening Aulis Phuket and the menu will be dedicated to showcasing native ingredients from Thailand and Asia, working hand-in-hand with local farmers and growers.
Other chefs confirmed for Skills for Chefs Conference include Jason Atherton, Tom Booton, Tim Allen, Paul Leonard, James Sharp, Andrew Gravett, Florian Poirot and Lorna McNee, protégé of the late two Michelin-starred chef Andrew Fairlie and Great British Menu’s ‘Champion of Champions’ 2019.
