Second The Frog restaurant to open in Covent Garden

Written by: Isabel Finch
28-year-old chef and restaurateur Adam Handling is set to open a second The Frog restaurant in London’s Covent Garden.

The Covent Garden site is to build upon the success of The Frog E1, Shoreditch, opened by Handling in 2016.

The flagship restaurant, scheduled to open this summer, will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all year round and premium cocktails in a speakeasy-style basement bar.

Handling said: “I’m hugely excited about opening the new restaurant this year. The Frog E1 has been so well-received and set the standard for The Frog as a group, and the new restaurant will be rooted in those foundations but also have its own, distinct style with its own dishes.”

The restaurant is to include a sizeable open-plan kitchen and a large, private dining room in the basement, complete with its own kitchen.

Handling said: “The new site will draw a different clientele to the first restaurant in Shoreditch, and I want it to be unlike anything else currently available in Covent Garden.”

The Frog E1 was most recently listed in Bloomberg’s roundup of London’s 11 best restaurants of 2016.
