Kate was crowned as champion following a nationwide contest, which saw quality entries from home cooks right across the UK, before culminating in a live Master Chef style cook-off at Sauce by The Langham Hotel, London. 

Kate was presented with the coveted Golden Tomato trophy, along with the prize of a trip to Parma, Italy, the home of Mutti. Her winning three-course menu featured:

Starter: Creamy tomato and mozzarella arancini, with tomato aioli using Mutti Passata

Main: Tomato, ricotta and guanciale stuffed girella pasta spiral, with crispy parmesan using Mutti Polpa Finely Chopped Tomatoes

Dessert: Tomato, plum and almond galette, with sticky tomato caramel using Mutti Peeled Tomatoes
