MasterChef: The Professionals finalists raise £9,400 for SSAFA at charity dinner
Handling, Andi Walker, MasterChef: The Professionals 2015 finalist, Elly Wentworth, runner up in 2016 and Mark Stinchcombe, winner of the 2015 competition, cooked a five course meal which was served by military personnel throughout the evening.
Handling said: “I am overwhelmed by the support we’ve had from the public in raising money for SSAFA. As someone with a military upbringing, the charity is particularly close to my hear and something wanted to get involved with.”
The total amount raised was made up of proceeds from ticket sales and a charity raffle.
The dinner was the second in a series of charity dinners that Adam and the MasterChef finalists will be hosting. In November, Handling and Walker hosted a dinner for Dementia UK.
SSAFA, formerly known as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, provides support to those who are currently or have previously served in the armed forces and their families.
