London's School of Wok to open culinary institute

London’s School of Wok is launching the Oriental Culinary Institute to teach the art of Oriental and Asian cuisine later this month.

The institute has been set up to specialise in accredited professional training and will provide courses in Oriental and Asian cookery, private consultancy, chef training and one-to-one training.

Jeremy Pang, founder of School of Wok, said: “Having been repeatedly approached by a number of professional outfits asking us if we could train their chefs, we decided to create something different, appealing to those who want to learn new skills or perfect the more sophisticated and lesser known cooking methods of asian cuisine.”

To coincide with the official opening of the institute on November 28th, chef Ken Hom will hold a public masterclass for guests to gain hands-on experience in oriental and asian cookery under the guidance of an acclaimed chef.

The School of Wok launched its Covent Garden headquarters in 2012 offering students the opportunity to learn different skills and cooking techniques from Dim Sum to noodle pulling.

The Oriental Culinary Institute opens on November 28th 2014 with Ken Hom’s masterclass from 6pm.
