London Restaurant Festival announces 2018 line-up

London Restaurant Festival (LRF) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, with a stellar line-up of world-renowned chefs hosting over 60 events during this year’s annual event (October).

Taking place across 400 London-based restaurants, LRF 2018 is once again partnering with American Express to bring over 50,000 people an unrivalled dining experience.

 

Focussing on the “international nature of London’s restaurant industry,” chefs including Bill Granger and husband and wife, Dylan Jones and Duangporn 'Bo' Songvisava, will be flying in especially from Australia and Thailand respectively.

 

Festival director Chris Wright explained: “As part of our 10th anniversary, we’ve chosen the ten cuisines we feel have transported London to its position as the culinary capital of the world,” with each cuisines to be represented

by global chefs.

 

So far, the line-up includes:

 

  • Bill Granger, Granger & Co.
  • Dylan Jones and Duangporn 'Bo' Songvisava, Bo.Lan (Bangkok)
  • Anne-Sophie Pic, La Dame De Pic (London)
  • Galician Javier Olleros
  • Nieves Barragan Mohacho, Sabor
  • Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, Malabar (Lima)
  • Martin Morales, Ceviche (London)

 

Running alongside LFR’s Tasting Menus, which will see 20 menus created exclusively for the festival, will be the Hertzstück Dining Room pop-up - inviting guests to explore the “future of dining through a theatrical tasting menu.”

 

Other events include:

  • A series of events celebrating Thailand’s culinary scene and the impact it has had in London – tasting menus at som saa, Kiln and Greyhound Café
  • ‘Ultimate Gastronomic Weekends’
  • Eat Art – private viewing and dinner at the Saatchi Gallery
  • Eat Talk - delving into the minds of chefs including Pierre Koffmann, Andrew Wong, and James Knappett and Sandia Chang.
  • Tea Tasting Masterclasses
  • Restaurant-hopping tours

 

LRF founder Simon Davis added: “Little did we know ten years ago just how far London’s restaurant scene could travel.  Happily it has flourished and, as a result, so has the festival.

 

“London is unquestionably one of the world’s leading culinary destinations and a melting pot of cultures and cuisines from the farthest reaches of the globe.

 

“The Festival has grown accordingly – celebrating the diversity of London’s restaurants with creative events that encourage everyone to get out there and try something new.”
