Jinjuu restaurant hosts female chef cook-off

Written by: Katie Imms
To celebrate the ‘female forces behind London’s food scene,’ chef proprietor Judy Joo is inviting some of the capital’s hottest female chefs to host a one-off grill-off.

Taking place at Joo’s Korean-inspired restaurant Jinjuu (Soho), the event will see Jane Alty (The Begging Bowl); Anna Hansen (The Modern Pantry) and Vicky Heafield (head chef at Berber & Q Shawarma Bar) take to the kitchen alongside Joo herself.

They will each be serving guests their own take on the traditional ssam – a Korean dish of barbecued meat topped with a sauce and wrapped in lettuce.

Joo said: Judy Says: ‘Things are about to heat up at Jinjuu!

“Celebrating women in this industry is something that is very close to my heart, so I’m thrilled be to be inviting these fabulous ladies down to cook alongside me in the Jinjuu kitchen, to show off some serious skill.”

The event will take place 15 August at Jinjuu (Soho, London). Tickets cost £35pp and include a welcome cocktail, 4 ssams as well as side dishes.
