Hertfordshire pub awarded fourth-consecutive Bib Gourmand

Written by: Nathan Pearce
Hundson-based pub Fox & Hounds has received the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand award for the fourth year running, heralding it as the best eatery in the county.

The award follows a recent refurbishment, supported with funding from HSBC. The bank has supported the pub since it was founded in 2004 and has since supported the pub's evolution, including the construction of an additional dining area for coporate entertaining.

Bianca Rix, co-owner of Fox & Hounds, said: “I think the key to the pub’s success is down to our ethos of continually thinking innovatively about not only the food we offer, but also the space in which we welcome customers.

"HSBC completely understood this mind set and has provided support and strategic advice over the years, which has been a crucial element in growing the restaurant, helping us to now win the Bib Gourmand award for the fourth year running.”

Sharon Byde, HSBC’s area director for business banking in west London, added: “Bianca and James have a long-standing partnership with their HSBC Relationship Manager Jacob Swiderski, which enabled us to tailor our funding to their specific needs.

"The Michelin award is testament to their business savviness and nuanced understanding of a hotly competitive industry. Our team of specialists will continue to support Fox & Hounds in its development and we look forward to its next chapter.”
