Craft Guild of Chefs supports National School Meals Week Silver Jubilee
The scheme, whereby school chefs spend a day working in some of the UK’s leading restaurants, alongside some of the most celebrated chefs in the industry, is now in its fifth year and has become a regular fixture in the week of celebrating all that is great about school meals.
LACA Chair of Events, Neil Porter said: “The Craft Guild of Chefs’ support for NSMW is greatly appreciated by LACA and its members; the list of venues that hosted our school chefs during NSMW 2017 read like the Michelin Star Guide!! 2018 is the 25th year of NSMW and we are looking to make it the best yet with the help of the Craft Guild and its members. It is wonderful that so many chefs at the very top of their industry are prepared to open their doors and share their knowledge and experience with school chefs.”
Craft Guild of Chefs General Committee Member, Mark Rigby replied; “We are happy to offer our support to LACA and there is no doubt that NSMW has become a major event now in the catering calendar. School chefs do a vitally important job in providing healthy and nutritious food on a daily basis for our children and the Host a School Chef initiative gives them the opportunity to experience something very different for a day. We wish LACA every success with the NSMW Silver Jubilee celebrations and we are delighted to be a part of it.”
