
Craft Guild of Chefs holds AGM and announces award winners
Nominated by the membership and ratified by the Vice Presidents’ Council, the honours and awards are made annually for the previous year and this year’s roll call included more than 60 recipients.
Amongst the recipients was Ian Parsons from Lockhart Catering Equipment, who was awarded the Chairman’s Award for extraordinary service to the Guild and Fishmonger’s Hall, which received the President’s Trophy for outstanding food and service.
The Order of Merit, which is the highest award given by the Vice Presidents’ Council for meritiorious and outstanding service in furthering the aims and objectives of the Guild over a minimum of 20 years was awarded to Steve Munkley.
The Special Award, also given by the Vice Presidents’ Council in recognition of achievements made in promoting the aims and objectives of the Craft Guild was awarded to Alan Dewberry.
The Chairman’s Shield was awarded to Westminster Kingsway College and Omero Gallucci was named the National Hero, for his tireless work promoting the Guild’s ethics.
During the AGM, the national chairmanship was passed over to Lee Maycock from previous chair Christopher Basten. Ian Nottage takes over as national vice chairman and Jane Johnson becomes national treasurer.
