Hundreds of copies of the Craft Guild of Chefs’ Awards booklet were handed out at last night’s awards ceremony, which took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards are seen as the chefs’ Oscars recognising the exceptional talent across the whole of the industry. The booklet, which is also available online, aims to highlight the achievements of the 17 award winners.

For the second year in a row The Silver Plate Restaurant at Sheffield College has been crowned as the winner of the Craft Guild of Chefs Accredited College Restaurant Award. Tom and Laurissa Heywood, owners of Pignut Restaurant, were announced as the Sustainability Award winners.

Tom Phillips has proven himself an exceptional ambassador for the UK on the global culinary stage, with his unwavering commitment, competitive excellence and long-term vision earning him the 2025 Craft Guild of Chefs ‘Competition Chef’ Award.

Brian Magill, chef lecturer at South Eastern Regional College, is a truly inspirational figure whose tireless dedication to education, community and culinary excellence makes him a standout winner of the Craft Guild of Chefs Culinary Hero Award.

Joining previous winners such as Luke Selby, Tom Shepperd and Clare Smyth MBE is Endo Kazutoshi, executive chef at Kioku, who has been named as the winner of the Craft Guild of Chefs New Restaurant of the Year Award.

Keira Carolan, demi chef de partie at Henrock by Simon Rogan, was crowned as the Young Chef Award winner after finishing third at the Young National Chef of the Year competition as well as receiving the Sustainability Prize.

Speaking about the awards in the foreword, Craft Guild of Chefs chair Mark Reynolds said: “As always we have rewarded excellence from across the industry and the career path, with the Young and Apprentice Chef awards identifying those at the start of their career and the others covering the year’s best chefs within their industry sectors.

“We are delighted that this year’s Special Award has gone to such an industry icon. Clare Smyth has reached the pinnacle of the industry with her three Michelin stars, but she has also been an incredible supporter of the Craft Guild of Chefs and our events, including these awards and the National Chef of the Year.

“I hope you enjoyed the 31st Craft Guild of Chef Awards and agree that we have another 17 worthy winners at the end of the evening. This commemorative brochure will give you all the detail on those winners for you to enjoy on your way home and a reminder of the incredible pantheon of winners from the past.”
