The British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF), has launched a series of short videos to demonstrate how using frozen food can cut preparation time and food waste in professional kitchens.

BFFF teamed up with Lee Maycock, newly appointed Craft Guild of Chefs chairman, to produce the Frozen Food Tips videos, highlighting the benefits of frozen food in professional kitchens.

The series of eight videos provide a resource for chefs looking for insightful hints and tips designed to not only enhance their preparation and cooking, but to also help them produce on-trend food, easily and cost effectively.

Brian Young, chief executive of BFFF, said: “This new series of Frozen Food Shortcut videos really emphasises how frozen food can be a great resource for those working in the foodservice industry.

“Being able to work with an experienced and well-respected chef such as Lee Maycock gives the Frozen Food Tips videos added credibility.”

Lee Maycock, chairman of The Craft Guild of Chefs, said: “Using frozen ingredients in a professional kitchen can be a great way to create a variety of great-tasting dishes. The versatility and time-saving aspect that frozen food offers can really benefit pubs, bars and other food outlets looking to offer diners a varied menu.

“Each video shows how using frozen ingredients can create dishes that pack a whole lot of flavour, and can provide chefs and caterers with the means to cut down on preparation time, reduce food waste and quickly prepare delicious, inventive dishes and innovative meal components.”

Mr Young concluded: “We’re confident that this video series providing top tips for chefs and caterers will be a useful resource for all those involved in food preparation in the foodservice sector.”
