The team of Kyras Samson, Hope Ryall-Thurlow & Madeleine Bate was mentored by Kayleigh Thorogood. The trophy was presented by Vicky Enderson, chair of judges & director of MSK Ingredients.

David McKown MBE, director of UK Young Restaurant, commented: "This year, the standards achieved by all teams exceeded all expectations."

Enderson added: "All teams did incredibly well, and it was the best and closest national final in the history of the competition. We now look forward to an exciting study trip to San Sebastián with this amazing young team from The Academy by Simon Rogan."
