Kate Austen to present at 2026 Skills for Chefs Conference
At the Skills for Chefs Conference, Austen will share insights into contemporary European cuisine, sustainable practices and the skills that drive success in professional kitchens.
Austen’s rise in the culinary world has been marked by a series of ‘remarkable’ achievements. After studying sociology at university, she pursued her passion for food, gaining early experience in Michelin-starred kitchens.
Her ambitious move to Scandinavia saw her join Copenhagen’s two Michelin-starred Restaurant AOC where she became the youngest female head chef of a two-starred kitchen in the world. Austen then went on to hone her craft at Sweden’s three Michelin-starred Restaurant Frantzén.
In 2024, Austen made history on BBC Two’s Great British Menu, becoming the first woman in the show’s 19-year history to win the main course at the final banquet — a milestone that cemented her status as one of Britain’s most exciting culinary voices.
Her varied career also includes a senior development chef role with Gordon Ramsay. Austen continues to influence the industry through her work as a private chef and collaborator with key brands. For more information, visit here.
