Written by: Edward Waddell
The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton has launched its curated winter menus, bringing a seasonally inspired culinary experience to its restaurant.

From roasts to vegetarian dishes, guests can enjoy comforting and high-quality food crafted by The Clink’s trainee chefs. The Clink is a public restaurant located within Brixton Prison, where people in custody train as chefs and front-of-house staff, gaining qualifications and real-world experience to help reduce reoffending.

The Winter Lunch Menu offers starters from £5.50 and mains from £24.80, featuring seasonal highlights like Venison tartare with egg yolk emulsion, Roasted Jerusalem artichoke with hazelnut and parmesan, or a warming Soup of the day with Clink Bakery bread.

Mains include Szechuan duck breast, Braised ox cheek with polenta crisp, Pan‑seared skate wing with mussels, and a vegetarian Roasted leek Alfredo with fregola and confit garlic. Seasonal desserts such as Poached pear & ginger pudding or Bitter chocolate torte round off a comforting winter lunch.

The Winter Gourmet Menu from £48.50 delivers a multi‑course experience celebrating the richness of winter ingredients.

Starters include Venison tartare, Kohlrabi Waldorf, and Roasted Jerusalem artichoke, followed by mains like Szechuan duck breast, Braised ox cheek, Pan‑seared skate wing, or the vegetarian Roasted leek Alfredo. Guests finish with seasonal desserts, sorbets, and petit fours for a refined and memorable winter dining experience.

Every dish on the menu is prepared by The Clink’s trainee chefs, giving guests the chance to support the charity’s mission of providing hospitality training and rehabilitation that equips prisoners with vital skills for a successful future.
