Last week I had a fantastic time celebrating the work of the Craft Guild of Chefs with our business partners. As an organisation we are so grateful to every one of our partners for all the support they give us and our members throughout the year.

Many members take advantage of the product offers that our business partners provide and you can see them at http://craftguildofchefs.org/business-partners.

Each year we like to offer our business partners an opportunity to network with each other and meet the Craft Guild committee. It’s an opportunity for us to thank them in person. For the first time in many years we moved away from London and hosted the lunch at stunning Northbrook Park in Farnham, Surrey.

We had a real treat in store for our lunch. Matt Owens, who is on our national executive committee, has recently launched his own venture, Fusion Catering Solutions. He was assisted by ‘infusions 4 chefs’ and some rising talent in the Guild’s Culinary Academy to create a five course lunch.

Our guests were greeted with a glass of champagne and some salt and vinegar puffed rice canapés which went down very well.

This was my first business partner lunch as Chair so I took to the floor to speak about some of our exciting plans for 2014. I talked about a bigger and better Universal Cookery & Food Festival at River Cottage, an exciting Family Food Appreciation initiative and, of course, NCOTY 2013 and our prestigious awards. As an industry we’ve certainly got a lot to look forward to next year.

Thank you to Matt Owens and his team of chefs for serving up such a delicious lunch. From all the tweets and blogs I’ve read I know his menu was very popular.
