Searcys will re-launch its St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar next month (April) with its first Champagne school, “fresh design” and brand new “all day British menu,” to coincide with the station’s 150th anniversary.

The Champagne School, housed at the venue’s famous 98m Champagne bar (the longest in Europe), will host exclusive masterclasses every first Wednesday of the month with Searcys’s drinks ambassador, Joel Claustre, teaching guests “all about Champagne and English sparkling wines, alongside paired sharing plates.”

It will also be available to book for private parties and masterclasses (£65 per person), pre-dinner experiences (£25 p.p.) and a five-course menu with matching English sparkling wines and champagnes (£120 p.p.).

Other new updates include the newly added 37-cover all-day kitchen bar, from which it will serve dishes such as Rainy Lane yoghurt, spiced pear, pomegranate and granola; smoked salmon with avocado and lemon; leek pie and 45-day house-aged Lake District rib of beef on the bone. A 12-seater tasting room will also be available to book for meetings, masterclasses and parties.

The new all-day menu has been created by development chef Shaun Rowlands and Searcys St Pancras executive chef, Colin Layfield, with a specific focus on seasonal produce, 90% of which is grown in the UK. As well as this, a “thoughtfully” curated cocktail list will feature 10 drinks with a “contemporary twists on 1920s cocktails” such as the ‘West Riding Rum’ and ‘The Heady Highlandman.’

Searcys managing director, Matt Thomas, said: “I am really proud of our team at St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar who have delivered a fresh and contemporary British menu that sits perfectly within the new design of the restaurant.

“The launch of the Champagne School will allow us to share our wealth of knowledge on Champagne and British sparkling wines in more depth, internally as a company, as well as to consumers. This is the first of many changes that we hope will mark a new era for Searcys.”
