Norwegian Seafood Competition

The Norwegian Seafood Recipe Challenge is open to all professional chefs who must submit a main course recipe showcasing Norwegian white halibut, with Norwegian cold-water prawns featuring as part of the dish.

Judges look for recipes that are contemporary, original, simple and creative and that bring out the succulent natural textures and flavours of Norwegian Seafood.

For the semi-final the main emphasis for judging is on the taste of the finished dish. Successful competitors will then go on to the final where they will be expected to cook their dish from scratch in front of a live audience.

Recipes should be typed, and produced for four covers with a clear method of no more than 10 stages with a colour print of the dish plated.

Competitors should also bear in mind that the winning recipe will also be a good profit-maker.


The 1st prizewinner receives a trophy and a working trip to Norway. Cash prizes are awarded to 2nd and 3rd place winners.
