Zest Quest Asia competition deadline looming

Written by: Admin
The deadline for entries into this year’s Zest Quest Asia competition is approaching and creator, Cyrus Todiwala, is urging colleges across the UK to act quickly.

The Zest Quest Asia competition is open to any full-time college students with British residency and offers the chance to win a culinary study tour of Asia, as well as learning about one of the most popular cuisines in the world.

The students, in teams of three and supported by their tutor or lecturer, are asked to create a four course meal based on the cuisines of Asia, including India & the Subcontinent, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Todiwala said: “We’re looking for ambitious student cooks who want to make their mark in this industry; what better way to stand out than to be recognised as a hotshot in Asian cuisine?”

Last year’s winners, a team from Westminster Kingsway College, won a 10-day tour of India following their performance at a cook-off held at Hilton London Heathrow T5. This year’s cook-off and gala dinner will be held in February 2015, and will likewise be held at the Hilton.

Several industry suppliers have pledged their support by becoming gold and silver sponsors, these include, Tilda, Cavity Protection Systems, 3663, Panasonic, Cobra Beer, Gelngoyne Highland Single Malt Whisky and Hilton T5.

Entry forms for this year’s Zest Quest Asia competition must be returned by December 5th 2014.
