Young Restaurant Team of the Year 2017 details announced

The Young Restaurant Team of the Year 2017 final will take place at Sheffield City College on July 5th.

David McKown, director of competition, said: "This year we are having two semi finals before the Grand Final since this will create an opportunity for more young teams to compete."

Each team consists of two chefs and one front of house member and can be guided in advance by a nominated mentor.

The competition theme this year is Italian and the guest judge at the final will be Italian chef Francesco Mazzei. Other judges include Andrew Bennnet and Craig Jackson, Acorn Award winner and general manager at Northcote Manor.

The winners of the competition will participate in a study trip, sponsored by MSK Ingredients to Modena, Italy.

The trip includes dinner at Osteria Francecana, the number one restaurant in the World`s Best Restaurant Awards 2016.
