Written by: Admin
Young chefs are being asked to gear up again for the Winnie Myers Traditional Tea Afternoon challenge organised by the Craft Guild's London Division.
Now in its second year, the competition for students and working chefs will be held at Westminster Kingsway College on Saturday, May 19 2012. Named after one of the Guild's most respected chefs – Winnie Myers, the aim is to find the best teatime spread. To win prizes, which include a Red Letter Day from sponsor Gram, the chefs need to prepare four traditional finger sandwiches – cucumber, smoked salmon, egg and cress, plus one of their own choice; a sweet and a savoury pastry; a sweet and a savoury scone; and two teacakes – plain and fruit, in the cook off. • Deadline for entries is Thursday, 12th April 2012.
