Wafflemeister launches Hospitality’s Got Talent fundraiser

Written by: Edward Waddell
Wafflemeister has launched its own charitable foundation, which has been set up to make a difference to people’s lives through food and hospitality charitable activities.

The first event, taking place on Tuesday 26th March (during HRC week) at Piano Works in London Farringdon, has been designed to bring together people from across the hospitality, food service and supply chain to help raise funds for its designated charities.

Team members from across the hospitality industry will be performing onstage throughout the evening, whether its singing, a comedy act, dancing or something completely different. The competition winner will be decided by the audience on the night.

Funds raised will go towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps fulfil the wishes of children with a critical illness, and the Burnt Chef Project, which provides mental health support to the hospitality industry.

Rikos Leong-Son, chief executive at Wafflemeister, said: “Wafflemeister has supported lots of charities over the years, but we felt we could have an even bigger impact and give back to the industry by doing something different and launching our own charitable foundation. What better way to kick things off than by celebrating the amazing talents of the people in our sector?

“Rather than a big ‘corporate’ event, we wanted to make it a night where our brilliant industry friends can come along, have fun and enjoy great talent while raising money for two brilliant causes at the same time.

"Our pledge to our team and our customers is to make a difference. We call on the industry to join us to make a difference to the children and hospitality colleagues that need our help.”
