Written by: Admin
TV cook Valentine Warner has created two limited edition pizzas that will be available in all PizzaExpress restaurants from 24th April.
The collaboration marks the first time that Warner's dishes have been made available on the high street. And to support the launch of the new pizzas, the restaurant chain has created a Virtual Chef's Table, which allows diners to watch Warner talk about his inspiration and the ingredients used, via their smartphones. Warner's pizzas are: Fennel & Salami pizza (£11.75) Working with award-winning artisan charcuterie Trealy Farm, soft fennel salami has been created. Warner has combined fennel seeds with chilli flakes, mozzarella and PizzaExpress' classic pasta sauce, finishing the pizza off with grana padano, rocket and finely sliced fresh fennel tossed in lemon oil and lemon zest. Puttanesca pizza (£10.75) Warner has created an intense, punchy pizza which features a combination of salty marinated anchovies, capers and green and black olives combined with a kick of fresh chillies, lemon oil, lemon zest, garlic oil and fresh oregano. Speaking about the partnership, Warner said: "I've been going to PizzaExpress all my life and even worked there as a waiter during my student days. I'm really proud of the two pizzas we've created and am excited to see them on the menu of my favourite pizza place." Antenor Siqueira, development chef at PizzaExpress added: "Valentine is such a burst of energy and inspiration. We've loved working with him to bring these knock-out pizzas to the menu."
