Six top chefs join forces to support Fukushima 100 Miles Challenge

Written by: Admin
Six of the UK's top chefs are teaming up on 11 August to cook a five-course dinner at the Moti Mahal restaurant for the Fukushima 100 Mile Charity evening.
The skilled chefs are Anirudh Arora (Moti Mahal), Sriram Aylur (Quilon), Hayashi Daisuke (Sake no Hana), Jun Tanaka (Pearl Restaurant) Martyn Pearn (Peel's Restaurant) and Edd Kimber (Winner of BBC2 Television Series 'The Great British Bake Off'). The dishes served up will range from Japanese, Indian, English and French cuisine. The event will be held following captain Bill Kawai-Calderhead's feat of running 100 miles in 24 hours around London, with his sister Maia cycling alongside. The 100 mile route will start on the 10th August from the Japanese Embassy and be completed by 05:46am on the 11th August. The challenge, aiming to raise just over £76,000 for the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal, is asking the public support to help achieve this target. The dinner will be followed by an auction where prizes range from a holiday to Shanti Maurice Hotel in Mauritius, to a once in a lifetime jet aircraft simulator experience. Chef Anirudh Arora is delighted to be involved: "I am honoured that we, at Moti Mahal, can contribute to such a worthy cause and by having a selection of the UK's top chef's on board, all working together; we will create a truly unique dining experience! I wish Bill all the luck in the world, and can assure him a tasty meal at the end of it!" For those interested in supporting the event can log onto www.fukushima100milechallenge.org.uk
