Rick Stein’s cookery school in Padstow is launching a new vegetarian cookery course on Thursday 27th September 2012.
Delivered by Mark Puckey, head chef at Padstow Seafood School, and his team, you will learn how to prepare and cook a whole host of Rick Stein's favorite vegetarian recipes inspired by his travels around the world. The one-day 'Vegetarian Cookery' course provides students with inspiration and ideas which are easily recreated in their own kitchens at home. The day incorporates a mix of demonstrations and practical, hands-on cookery and a sociable lunch enjoying the dishes which students have produced. Recipes include focaccia with rosemary and rock salt, roasted pumpkin and thyme soup with Gruyere cheese and fresh pappardelle with ricotta, spinach, basil and lemon. Rick Stein said his passion for vegetarian led him to create the course: "I'm a great fan of vegetable dishes; recipes like my pumpkin and thyme soup or the Sri Lankan tomato, chilli and coconut curry with deep fried eggs or what I like to call my dry vegetable curry, a lightly spiced cauliflower, cabbage and carrot dish from India. These I could live on any day and never think about fish! The course is all about creating well flavoured vegetable dishes which will leave you healthy and content."
