Private members’ club Annabel’s announces three chef appointments

Written by: Isabel Finch
Private members’ club Annabel’s has announced the three chefs to lead its dining areas ahead of the club’s new opening at 46 Berkley Square, London.

Christopher Marleix, formerly of The Grill at The Dorchester, will assume the role of brasserie head chef, while Ryan Brown, current Annabel’s head chef, will assume the role of head chef for Annabel’s Nightclub.

Julien Jouhannaud, formerly of Le Bilboquet, New York, will become executive chef for The Birley Clubs, the group of private members’ clubs under which Annabel’s is run.

The new appointments will see menu changes at the club. The nightclub will include more cosmopolitan options including sharing dishes, steak Diane and lobster coco and Thai red curry.

The brasserie menu will include a large selection of salads and French dishes. The brasserie menu will focus on diversity as members can dine at the club a few times a week, says Jouhannaud.

Guillaume Glipa, executive director of The Birley Clubs, said: “Members will be able to enjoy Annabel’s all day long, from early in the morning to late into the night - their every need looked after with warmth and genuine hospitality.

“The new Annabel’s gives us a much larger space in which to tell an exciting story and we are doing it with intelligence, wit and humour. It will be a wonderful place full of things to discover and rediscover.”

The club, previously at 44 Berkley Square for over 50 years, will cover 26,000 sq ft and will offer day and night experiences for exclusive members.
